Tier 1 (Entrepreneur)
This route allows individuals to come to or stay in the UK in order to invest or set up a business. The minimum amount required is £200,000 (or £50,000 in certain circumstances) which must be held in one or more regulated financial institutions and disposable in the UK. This money must have been invested into one or more businesses in the UK if applying for an extension.
Tier 1 (Investor)
This category of the Points-based System allows high net worth individuals making substantial financial investment in the UK to come or stay in the UK. The minimum amount required is £2 million which needs to be under the applicant’s control held in a regulated financial institution and disposable in the UK for initial applications made after 6 November 2014. Those applying for an extension of their visa will be required to show they have invested £1 million into the UK.
Tier 1 (Exceptional Talent)
The Tier 1 (Exceptional Talent) category is designed for those individuals that are exceptionally talented within their respected field and who wish to work in the UK. These individuals must be endorsed by one of the five ‘Designated Competent Bodies.’
Tier 1 (Graduate Entrepreneur)
The Tier 1 (Graduate Entrepreneur) category is for UK graduates who have been identified by Higher Education Institutions as having developed genuine and credible business ideas and those that have been identified by UK Trade and Investment as elite graduate entrepreneurs.
