At Adams, we take our responsibilities in terms of social responsibility seriously. In part, this is a natural result of the pride we take in serving the local community by providing first-class, economic legal services for both business and private clients. We are currently engaged in developing our policy in this context but so far have put in place the following initiatives:
Environmental Policy
Adams is concerned about the impact our activities have on the environment. Wherever possible, we recycle our office waste, including all waste paper, print cartridges and other recyclables such as bottles and cans. In line with advice, we also take a range of basic energy saving measures such as ensuring that office equipment is not left on stand-by and that we minimise water usage.
However, we know there’s plenty of work still to do. We are committed to developing our environmental policy over the coming months, and are currently investigating a number of initiatives, with help and advice from relevant agencies.
Charity
San Chima our marathon running managing partner is committed to raising money for a range of charities. During 2006, San ran the Chicago Marathon, and in doing so raised £3,000 for Cancer Research, a charity that is particularly close to his heart since someone very close to him was affected by the illness. In 2007 he ran the Boston Marathon, in aid of the Junior Diabetes Research Foundation. Diabetes is affecting an increasing number of young people. In 2008, his plans include running the Tring2Town, a marathon 40 mile hike, this time in aid of the Bangladesh Cyclone Appeal. Other activities by the firm have also included the Three Peaks event in 2007, in which an Adams team participated, raising money for the Red Cross.
The firm regulate organises internal raffles for the Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund.
